The creative process leads to self-disenchantment. In the creation journey, I constantly convince myself that I am creating something of great value. I slave away for hours, with something that I believe to be, quite simply, genius. At least it’s genius in my head. Every writer, painter, poet or bard that ever lived had a better idea in their head than they could produce in real life.

The problem is that the creative process can sometimes feel like this video:

Do you ever feel this way? What do you create that makes you feel like a brilliant inventor while doing it–and then only later do you realize a child might have done as well with play-doh?

I feel that way about this post already.

What’s your take?
